Notes

  1. PDB <= 501-7697-05 may cause intermittant DVD operation.
  2. PDB 501-7697-06 changes firmware reset timing for proper DVD operation.
  3. PDB 501-7697-09 changes firmware to resolve BugID 15542723 [SUNBT6806680].
  4. Access to the Sun Fire X4250 System Board busbar screws is blocked by the CPU0 Heatsink.
    Removal of the CPU0 Heatsink during the PDB replacement procedure is required.
    Clean and re-grease the Heatsink with Thermal Grease Kit F350-1271-01.
    The kit includes Cleaning Wipe 250-1802 and ShinEtsu X23-7783D Thermal Grease syringe 310-0065.
    The kit is not included with the PDB.
  5. PDB 511-1603 only supports a SATA DVD. A PATA DVD is not supported.

SPARC Enterprise T5220 and T5240 Notes

  1. Program the chassis serial number into a replacement PDB using the setscn command.
    Reference the Service Manual.
