Purpose

Use LEDs on the HBN Card and CLI Displays when Troubleshooting SSD & Interlock Issues.

Troubleshooting Steps

There are two useful aids in troubleshooting interlock and safety door issues. The LEDs on the HBN card and the CLI command "safetyinterlock status".

The LEDs are shown in the Service Manual, and in the Installation Manual in Chapter 9, Figure 9-7. The LED information and the CLI command output are provided below and in the attached interlock and SSD service aid document along with a note regarding what to check.

Notes:

Verify your LED status first and see if they change when switches are activated/deactivated.

The HBN has LED's that denote the SSD switch and door interlock statuses, you can check these also with the front door open.

Manually toggle the switches and verify the state on the HBN card or CLI command. As you manually pull the SSD left or right you can verify the switch engagement and hear the switch toggle states.

Make sure a pawl that toggles an SSD switch is not stuck in the closed position. They can over shoot the switch and get stuck on the wrong side of the switch lever. Visually check the pawls, which are spring loaded, and verify they freely move.

If the HBN indicators are toggling but the CLI status display does not change for one or more switches, suspect an issue with the signal cables running along the right side of the inner wall on the floor of the SL8500.

Note: “Success” does not mean the states are all good. It only means the command successfully executed.
