The system suddenly powers off and will not power on. Running start /SYS from the ILOM starts the system for only a few seconds. Pressing the power button produces no results at all. No errors in the system event log.

Power to /SYS has been turned on by: Console session, Username: root
- Check the front power button does not do anything at all when pressing in and out. The system will not power on even for a second.
- Disconnect the FIM cable from the motherboard and try to power on the system again from the ILOM -> start /SYS, if the system stays up for about a minute or more then most likely the FIM or FIM cable need replacement.
Other things to do in case the FIM is not the issue:
- Remove components to bring the system down to a minimal configuration to try to isolate the problem component.
- Sometimes the power button or locator light button can get jammed in by the chassis, make sure this is not the case.
- Gather a full snapshot, as there may be clues in the cpld and voltage data pointing to an issue.
