Purpose

 How to troubleshoot a KMA server that is down and the ELOM IP address is unknown.

Troubleshooting Steps

1. Connect to the service processor (SP) through the KMAs serial port.

    a. Open a terminal window to connect to the ELOM service processor through the serial port.
        Note: On Windows, use hypertrm. The settings should be 9600, 8, N, 1.

    b. Press Enter on the terminal device.
        This will make the service processor issue a login prompt.

    c. To log in to the CLI:
        1. Enter the default user name, root.
        2. Enter the default password, changeme.

    d. Once you have successfully logged in, the service processor displays the SP default command prompt:
        SP->

2. Determine the ELOM IP address.

    a. Display the server network info.

        --> show /SP/AgentInfo

        A portion of the sample output from the above command shows the ELOM IP address in IpAddress field:

        ...
        Properties:
        HWVersion = 0
        FWVersion = 3.20
        MacAddress = 00:16:36:5B:97:E4
        IpAddress = 10.13.60.63
        NetMask = 255.255.255.0
        Gateway = 10.13.60.1
        DhcpConfigured = disable

3. Determine if OKM is running.

    a. Display power status:

        –> show /SP/SystemInfo/CtrlInfo

    b. If power status shows off:

       --> set /SP/SystemInfo/CtrlInfo PowerCtrl=on

    c. If power status show on:

Now you know the ELOM ip address
From a web browser open the ELOM web gui, select Remote Control, select Redirection
OKM console should be displayed

    d. If the OKM consoles fails to be displayed or appears hung reboot from the SP run:

        –-> set /SP/SystemInfo/CtrlInfo PowerCtrl=reset

       Note: If you connect a terminal or emulator to the serial port before it has been powered up or during its power up sequence, you will see boot-up messages.
