Purpose

After a maintenance activity, updating the platform firmware on a Netra T4-1 fails with the following message

-> load -source sftp://user:abc123@192.168.0.101/export/home/user/Downloads/Sun_System_Firmware-8_8_1_d-Netra_SPARC_T4-1.pkg

Package does not match our platform
Image is not for this platform

Firmware image update failed.
load: Command Failed

Unrecognized Chassis: This module is installed in an unknown or unsupported
chassis. You must upgrade the firmware to a newer version that supports
this chassis.

Troubleshooting Steps

For the Netra T4-1 platform it is critical that the PCI Risers and PCI Mezzanine are installed on the main motherboard before applying the Netra firmware. These components are distinguishing features of the Netra platform. The Netra firmware verifies if these components are present on the system before allowing the Netra firmware to proceed with the firmware update.
