Solution Type Troubleshooting Sure Solution 1596305.1 : Oracle Exalogic Diagnostic Information required for Disk Failures and some other Hardware issues
In this Document
Applies to:Exalogic Elastic Cloud X3-2 Full RackOracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud X2-2 Hardware - Version X2 to X2 [Release X2] Oracle Exalogic Elastic Cloud X2-2 Full Rack Information in this document applies to any platform. PurposeThis document provides the set of commands required to collect diagnostic information required for disk failures on the Exalogic nodes and for some other hardware issues. Troubleshooting StepsWhen diagnosing an hardware (HW) issue, you will likely be asked by the Service Request owner to provide data to investigate. Here is a first set of commands, tools that can be ran to first troubleshoot or to be sent to the support.
Disk issues related to a Compute Node: (also called Cell Node), these commands should help to get the current status of the hardware RAID mirror : # /opt/MegaRAID/MegaCli/MegaCli64 -Ldinfo -lAll -aAll # /opt/MegaRAID/MegaCli/MegaCli64 -PdList -aAll
Disk issues related to the ZFS appliance: collecting a supportbundle is the best way to proceed : <Document: 1019887.1> : Sun Storage 7000 Unified Storage System: How to collect a supportbundle using the BUI or CLI
Other suspected HW issues : For the suspected hardware issues which are not related to the disks, running a snapshot from the affected node is a good first step. <Document: 1020204.1> : Collecting snapshot on ILOM 3.x and later platforms NB : In some cases, it could even been requested for disk issues.
In rare cases (mostly for the Preventive Maintenance SR), you may be asked for an Exachk, which is a health-check tool designed to audit the different configuration settings inside the whole Exalogic system (at HW and mainly SW point of view). The procedure to use this tool can be found on <Document: 1449226.1> : Exachk Health-Check Tool for Exalogic.
