Purpose

 Troubleshooting AC input failures on M3000, M4000 & M5000

Troubleshooting Steps

 When experiencing the following output from showhardconf.

 PSU#1 Status:Normal; Serial:0017527-0837024789;
       + FRU-Part-Number:CF00300-2011 0250 /300-2011-02-50;
       + Power_Status:Input fail; AC: - ;

And sometimes FMA is reporting

Date: Jul 18 07:22:42 UTC 2012     Code: 8000a000-c3ff0000-0104370000000000
   Status: Alarm                  Occurred: Jul 18 07:22:42.576 UTC 2012
   FRU: /PSU#1
   Msg: Unit disappeared unexpectedly

If there is a loose AC cable this could cause your PSU being to be failed and you would see:

 PSU#X Status:Faulted; Serial:0017527-0744012383;
+ FRU-Part-Number:CF00300-2011 0150 /300-2011-01-50;
+ Power_Status:Off; AC:200 V;

If AC power was missing from the PSU, you would see;

PSU#X Status:Normal; Serial:0017527-0744012383;
+ FRU-Part-Number:CF00300-2011 0150 /300-2011-01-50;
+ Power_Status:Input Fail; AC: -;

Check if all the power cords are plugged into PSUs

If power cords are plugged in but the command output field  is still " - " then the
first thing to do should be to have an electrician check the datacenter power source.
There may be an issue on that side.

If PSUs are plugged in and Power Source is good then the situation has to be analyzed and properly addressed.

Raise a Service Request to Oracle Support

If the previous step did not help you in understanding the situation then a SR has to be open.
In this case you'll have to gather and send to Oracle the snapshot of the Active XSCF.

To discuss this information further with Oracle experts and industry peers, we encourage you to review, join or start a discussion in the My Oracle Support Community - M Series Servers

This doesn't affect M8000 & M9000 system as these have a different power supply configuration.
