9310/L5500 - Troubleshooting Pass Thru Port (PTP) Failure Issue in Library.
Troubleshooting Steps
PROBLEM OVERVIEW: PTP Failure
WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? : Customer vary the PTP Master LSMs and drives attached to the LSM offline.
WHAT ACTION NEEDS TO BE TAKEN:
CONFIRM THE FAULT BY:
Testing LSM and PTP connectivity.
1. Perform Quick Init on LSM per Maintenance Manual P/N 99607.
2. Check Event Log for PTP Errors.
CONFIRM THE FIX BY: Verifying LSM is back online and PTP is operational.
Customer vary the LSMs and Drives attached to LSM online.
