- Redundant AC power option (UPS) failure
- DC power faults
- Operator panel problems
- Interface errors
- Tape drive faults
- Mismatched SCSI interfaces
Troubleshooting Steps
It is difficult to determine when the MPC/MPCL may be causing problems. There are a number of symptoms that could be the result of a defective card. Refer to the following steps to troubleshoot this problem. This information is found in the L700/L1400 Service Reference Manual, Chap.3, PN 95846.
1. Do you have an AC power problem? Yes: Go to TIP 1000: Power---AC PDU.
No: Go to Step 3.
2. Do you have a power problem that may relate to the redundant power option? Yes: Go to "TIP 1010: Power---UPS Power"
No: Go to Step 3.
3. Do you have an DC power problem? Yes: Go to TIP 2000: Power---DC Power.
No: Go to step 4.

5. Do you have a problem where the client system cannot access the library? Yes: Go to TIP 4000: SCSI Interface.
No: Go to Step 7.
6. Do you have a tape drive problem? Yes: Go to TIP 5000: Tape Drives.
No: Go to step 7.
