Validate that the HBA in the path can be seen from the Operating System, and the devices connected to the HBA are visible. For details on how to verify this refer to: How to verify connectivity on Oracle/Sun Branded Host Bus Adaptors (HBAs) (Doc ID 1009556.1) Example of device path: /devices/pci@1f,4000/SUNW,qlc@4/fp@0,0 Step 2 - Validate that the multipathing software is optimal. Oracle supports Sun Storage Traffic Manager (STMS) multipathing software. Other multipathing software, such as Veritas Dynamic Multi-Pathing(DMP) and EMC PowerPath, can exist in a Solaris operating environment but support for such products is provided by Symantec and EMC respectively. Refer to: DocID: 1002465.1 "How to Verify the Health of Disk Logical Unit Managed Under Solaris Multipathing Software (MPxIO)" Step 3 - Verify Sun Storage Array hardware and configuration is optimal. Refer to the troubleshooting documents below to confirm the hardware and configuration settings are correct: For T3 : DocID: 1012673.1 "Troubleshooting Sun StorEdge[TM] T3 Configuration" Please gather a Solaris Explorer, and contact Oracle Support. Refer to the Sun Explorer Product Information Center (Doc ID 1312847.1) To discuss this information further with Oracle experts and industry peers, we encourage you to review, join or start a discussion in the My Oracle Support Community - Disk/Tape Storage Area Networks(SAN)
