Goal
Why is there a problem opening trace with IDIH
Solution
DSR was upgraded (to 8.x) but IDIH was not yet upgraded (still on 7.x) so there were temporary incompatibility between the IDIH and DSR.
From the DSR 8.x Upgrade document it says the following:

3.4.7 IDIH Pre-Upgrade
If IDIH is a component of a Network Element, it may be upgraded either before or after the DSR. The order of
upgrade will not impact the functionality of either component. However, it should be noted that certain compatibility
limitations may exist while the two components are not on the same release.
