Goal
Why Engineered Ingress MPS is set to 40000?
Solution
MP Engineered Ingress MPS:-
a) This is the highest MPS rate that the MP server has been successfully processed/tested to without overload.
b) The MP engineered ingress capacity is Engineering configurable based on the type of server DA-MP is running on.
c) This value is independent of the number of connections that are active.
The Engineered Ingress MPS is specified in Engineering configurable DA-MP Profile tables. Please find the details of Engineered Ingress MPS as per DA-MP Profile based configurable parameters and these values are set by default in the system.

DA-MP profiles allow the support for mixed DA-MP blade types in the DSR. The DA-MP capacity values are dependent on the DA-MP hardware and hosted application.
The four hardware types are:
• G6 = BL460 half-height
• G8/G9 = BL460 half-height
• Gen9V2 = BL460 half-height
• G7 = BL620 full-height
• VM = Virtualized DA-MP
The three application types are:
• Relay = DA-MP hosting Relay and not hosting a DSR Local Application
• Database = DA-MP hosting Relay and RBAR/FABR/DM-IWF Applications
• Session = DA-MP hosting Relay and P-DRA/DM-IWF+RBAR/DM-IWF+FABR Application
Engineered Ingress MPS should be used within 40000 MPS as per recommendation for G8/G9 :Database.
- As per engineering details, any value beyond the mentioned details will take the system to overload. There is no particular segregation for memory/CPU provided under Engineered Ingress MPS calculation.
- Engineering team recommends the mentioned values are per their Unit testing prior to every specific release and that is been documented for Engineering/TAC reference.TAC has no details on the behavior of the system during their testing. The MP Engineered Ingress MPS is the maximum sustained rate in ingress MPS that a DSR MP server can successfully process without overload, which means that beyond 40000 MPS, DSR MP Server will move into overload.
-TAC will not be able to get the logs of their Unit testing from engineering team. TAC has neither documents nor details on the behavior of the system during their testing.
-The following Alarm gets raised during overload: - "22221 - Routing MPS Rate": Message processing rate for this MP is approaching or exceeding its engineered traffic handling capacity.
