Oracle Communications Diameter Signaling Router (DSR) - Version DSR 7.0 to DSR 8.0.0 [Release DSR 7.0 to DSR 8.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Does The Engineered Ingress MPS Include The Message Copy Rate.

Solution

Each Diameter Request successfully copied will be treated as a new transaction. When a received Diameter Request is copied it becomes two (2) transactions – one for the original and one for the Message Copy. Thus, a copied Request/Answer transaction deducts two MPS from the net MPS rating of the DSR. If the local DA-MP enters into congestion based on the value of the "configured congestion level" for Message Copy (GUI ->Diameter->Configuration->System Options->Message Copy folder) , the Message Copy functionality on that DA-MP will be disabled automatically as a load-shedding mechanism. The Message Copy function will be (re)enabled when the local DA-MP congestion level abates (based on the configured Message Copy congestion level set) and a message marked for copy is attempted to be copied.
