Goal

To configure the following timers in E5-MS GUI access:-
  - Lockout time
  - Inactivity period
  - Maximum period of active GUI session.
 

Solution

Below procedure on how to configure login restriction for user Lockout time and Inactivity period for E5-MS GUI access:-

  1. Logon E5-MS server command line as admin or root user.

  2. Go to the directory "/Tekelec/WebNMS/conf".

  3. Create a backup copy of the original config file.

      Example:-

  # cp clientparameters.conf clientparameters.bak



  4. Open the config file "clientparameters.conf" and edit the following lines.

  ALLOWED_IDLE_TIME_BEFORE_LOCKOUT="30"
  ALLOWED_IDLE_TIME_BEFORE_TERMINATION="60"


      a). ALLOWED_IDLE_TIME_BEFORE_LOCKOUT : lockout time default value is 30 minutes. Set this parameter to zero for user session do not lock out.

      b). ALLOWED_IDLE_TIME_BEFORE_TERMINATION: inactivity time default value is 60 minutes.

  5. Save and exit.

  6. Restart the E5MS service.

      Example:-

    # service e5msService <stop/start>
