Goal

How to disable smart install on cisco switch

Solution

Verify if Smart Install Service is enabled or not on the Cisco Switch:

adm01>show vstack config | inc Role
Role: Client (SmartInstall enabled)

To Disable:

Steps should be
Switch> enable
Switch> <enter password if required>
Switch# config t
Switch(config)# no vstack
Switch(config)# exit

Please note the "no vstack" command does not persist across reload due to Cisco defect CSCvd99197 and Cisco recommends to upgrade IOS to 15.2.4E6 to address this issue.
