SL150 - How to Reboot the SL150 Library

Solution

There are 2 ways to reboot the SL150 library.

  1. Reboot from the SL150 Web GUI
  2. Reboot from the power button in the upper left corner on the front of the SL150 library

Note:  Prior to rebooting your SL150 library you should manually move any tapes that are in the drives back to open slots in the library if possible.

To Reboot from the SL150 Web GUI please follow the below process:

  1. Log into the SL150 Web GUI from a browser window by using either the hostname or the IP Address
  2. In the upper left corner of the SL150 Web GUI click on the Power Icon
  3. Select the "Restart Library" option
  4. A dialog box will pop up asking if you want to bypass the audit for a quicker boot time
  5. If you want a full reboot and audit to be done (recommended) then don't check the bypass audit box.  If however you want to bypass the audit then check the box.
  6. Click "OK" to reboot the SL150
  7. Wait for the SL150 reboot to complete and for the SL150 to go to an "Online" state
  8. Sync up the SL150 inventory with your backup application

Note:  If there were tapes in the drive before you rebooted and you could not manually move the tapes from the drives to an open slot then you will need to do that after the library reboot is complete and before you sync the SL150 inventory with your backup application.  Please see MOS Knowledge DOC ID 1474854.1 for the process to manually move tapes with the SL150 Web GUI.

To Reboot from the power button in the upper left corner on the front of the SL150 library please follow the below process:

  1. Press and release the power button on the front of the SL150 library
  2. A dialog box will pop up asking if you want to park the robot.
  3. Do not select the park robot box and press OK to power off the SL150 library
  4. Once the SL150 is fully powered down press and release the power button on the front of the SL150 library
  5. Wait for the library to fully power up and go to an "Online" state
