Check the metal at the top of a drive bay, where the latch engages it.

Customers try to install drive trays without opening the latch and bending/distorting the metal.

I haven't seen a latch break or fail in all the machines I've worked on but, I have seen people trying to operate the latch without depressing the latch release so, it's possible that someone did that to your latch and damaged the latch.

Goal

 Looking for insight on SL3000 drive tray latch assembly. I have a tray that will not latch solidly into position and with time/mounts it slowly pushes the drive far enough back that power is lost. I do not see latch as a part that can be ordered or if considered replaceable.
