Goal
Number of DCPS's needed to support 2N power and drives.
Solution
Use the information below for the required DC PS in the SL3000. This is an older guide but is close to the current values. This is also updated and available in the SL3000 Installation Manual.
The number of DCPS depends on the number and type of tape drives that are installed, N+1 or 2N power and AC voltage that is supplied.
Based on the calculations below, 12 LTO drives draw about 683 Watts. If the box is connected with 220 volt PDUs you can power up to 25 LTO drives with 1 DCPS in each PDU tower.
