Goal

Not able to connect to MySQL during upgrade

Solution

Following error was logged during execution of procedure 30 - Step 5 in the Full upgrade document of EPAP 16.1.

DBI connect('database=mysql:mysql_socket=/var/TKLC/epap/db/pdb/mysql.sock;host =localhost','root',...) failed: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/TKLC/epap/db/pdb/mysql.sock' (2) at /opt/TKLCappl/bin/pdb_grant.pl line 67

Solution:

mysqlpdb instance is not running. The mysqlpdb service should be started in such a case.

Run the command:

service mysqlpdb status

The status should be not running.

service mysqlpdb start

MySQL service should be started.

Then check the status:

service mysqlpdb status

The status should be running.
