Goal

How much does time slip on an SL3000 library?

Solution

There should be no time slippage (or lost) on an SL3000 or SL8500 library. If this is seen then please report it to Tape Hardware Support, Level 2.

Note: It is not possible to set SL8500/SL3000 to use an NTP server.

See the document - SL500/SL3000/SL8500 - How to Set Time or Date on the Library (Doc ID 1532889.1)-  for details on setting the internal clock.

Note: The CLI command for time and date only sets the HBC card's time and date. It has no effect on the SLConsole date and time.

To change the date and time on SLConsole see doc - SL8500/3000 - Need to Set Time/Date on SL Console (Doc ID 1020381.1)
