Goal

On : Infiniband Switch on Exadata Database Machine

Infiniband patch fails with:

Error: Insufficient disk space/memory.

Attempting to patch infiniband from version 2.2.5-3 to 2.2.7-1 using the firmware patch delivered with Exadata storage cell bundle patch 18.1.3.0.0.171219.2.

Solution

Rebooting the Infiniband Switch cleared the issue, allowing to proceed with the patching.
