Goal

How to Replace a Bezel for an IBM or HP LTO Drive.

Solution

1. Remove the drive tray from the library (see “Drive Tray Removal/FRU Access Procedure” on page 240 of the SL8500 Service Manual) and place it on a suitable work surface.
2. Four locking tabs (1) shown in FIGURE 2-12/Page 247 in the SL8500 Service Manual (two on each side) secure the bezel.
    Remove and retain the bezel for re-use with the replacement drive by:
     a. Pressing down on the two locking tabs on one side.
     b. Pivoting the bezel out from the other side.

To replace drive bezel, reverse steps documented above.
