GoalThis document includes information on how to enter the American Megatrends Inc. (AMI) BIOS and change the boot device priority. Solution1. Log into the Oracle Integrated Lights Out Manager (ILOM) Web Interface. 2. Navigate to Host Managerment > Host Control, select BIOS for Next Boot Device, and click Save.
Next Boot Device only works on the next boot and is not permanent.
The CD-ROM device on the list corresponds to the physical CD/DVD unit. 3. Navigate to Host Management > Power Control, select the next event you want, and click Save.
4. Click OK in the confirmation dialog box. The action is performed. After the machine powers ON, the AMI BIOS displays. 5. Go to the Boot tab using the arrow keys. The Virtual CD displays. 6. Move the device you want to boot from to the top of the list: a. Select the first device and click Enter. b. Select the new device you want at the top and click Enter. The boot device priority is updated. 7. Select the Save & Exit tab, select Save Changes and Reset, and click Yes. You must save the changes before exiting the BIOS or the changes will not take effect.
