IBM LTO 4 Ethernet Adapter (Belisarius) Card Removal
To remove the IBM Ethernet adapter card:
1. Follow the directions in “Drive Tray Removal: All Tape Drives” on page 143.
2. Place the drive tray on a suitable working surface.
Caution – Drive mounting/recognition errors: Be sure to note the positions of the following screws.
3. Using a T10 driver, remove the four screws (2) and the card mounting screw (1) shown in FIGURE 2-36 on page 166 that attach the drive and card to the sides of the tray.
4. Remove the two T10 screws that attach the top cover plate on the drive tray.
5. Lift up the front of the cover and slide it out of the rear slots on the tray.
6. Pull out the drive part way—until you can feel the cable tension—and remove the drive’s air flow shield from above the drive.
7. Turn over the HBD (or LOD) card.
8. Disconnect the cables to the HBD (see “HBD Card” on page 156 ) or LOD card (see “LOD Card Removal” on page 157 ) and place the card aside.

Caution – Mounting errors: It is possible to incorrectly mount the card. Be sure that the Ethernet connector to the card is pointed to the rear of the drive tray.
1. Plug in the connectors (1 through 6) shown in FIGURE 2-42 on page 169.
2. Be sure that all cables are away from the fans (1) shown in FIGURE 2-43 and use caution not to damage the fiber optic cable (2).
3. Slide in the fan and plate and position all cables (shown in FIGURE 2-44 on page 170) with most of their lengths to the back of the tray.
4. Secure the fan plate to the sides of the tray with the two screws.
5. Slide in the tabs on the card’s mounting plate to mate with the slots on the fan tray.
6. Secure the card to the side of the drive tray with the single T10 screw (1) shown in FIGURE 2-36 on page 166.
