DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS
- WHAT SKILLS ARE REQUIRED?:Knowledge of the SL3000 and LTO tape drives in the library.

REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS:
- PROBLEM OVERVIEW: The power supply inside the drive tray has been determined to be defective and requires replacement.
- WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?: The drive must be offline to the system.
- WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED?:
Refer to the SL3000 Service Manual for complete instructions and pictures for this action.
LTO Tape Drive Power Supply
The power supplies for IBM and HP tape drives are the same part number.
LTO Tape Drive Power Supply Removal
1. Follow the directions in “Drive Tray Removal: All Tape Drives” on page 143.
Caution – Potential ESD damage:The power supply contains ESD-sensitive components. Be sure you follow ESD precautions.
2. Disconnect cables (1 and 3) shown in FIGURE 2-33and remove the T10 mounting screws (2) for the power supply.
3. Lift out the power supply from the tape drive tray and place it into an ESD- protective package or on an ESD-qualified surface.
LTO Tape Drive Power Supply Replacement
To replace an LTO power supply:
Caution – Potential ESD damage: The power supply contains ESD-sensitive components. Be sure you follow the precautions in the SL3000 Safety and Compliance Guide.
1. Position and align the replacement power supply with the mounting holes.
2. Beginning with the center hole (2) in FIGURE 2-33 on page 162 , loosely thread in a T10 screw.
3. Loosely insert the remaining four screws.
4. After all five screws are aligned, tighten the screws.
5. Refer to FIGURE 2-33 on page 162 to reconnect the cables (1 and 3) for the power supply.
6. Replace the tray cover and insert the tape drive into its array slot.
- WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE?: Bring drive online to the system and verify functionality
