Oracle Communications EAGLE (Hardware) - Version LSMS 11.x and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Is the VIP being assigned to the Active Secondary LSMS an issue or interruption to redundancy?

Solution

The VIP is assigned to the Active server (the LSMS taking updates from the NPAC and updating the ELAPS). Redundancy is maintained by the Active server replicating the data to the Standby server. When the Active server is stopped or goes down, the Standby server becomes active and the VIP is automatically assigned to it. All functionality continues.
