Oracle Communications Diameter Signaling Router (DSR) - Version DSR 5.0 and later
Tekelec

Goal

Port Security scan can show that port 8081 is not open in a MP server. The port is managed by awadmin, and the eclipseHelp process.

Solution

The eclipseHelp process is for the GUI online help. Since the MPs do not have a GUI, this is not needed. Customers may want the process active in order for consistency with the rest of the servers (NOAMs/SOAMs). There is no operational impact.

Collection:

# iqt -E PmControl where "procTag='eclipseHelp'"
# pl |grep eclipseHelp
# ps -ef |grep awadmin
# cat /etc/passwd |grep awadmin
# ll /home/

The above outputs will show if the process is running, and that the user 'awadmin' is configured and active.

Solution:

# pm.set on eclipseHelp

The command above will start the service/process on the MP server.
