Goal

What data to provide to diagnose Infiniband fabric quality issues.

Solution

Please run the following commands logged into ONLY ONE of the leaf switches and provide the requested files:

# ibnetdiscover

# ibdiagnet -skip dup_guids -ls 10 -lw 4x -pm

(Collect all the files in /tmp that begin with ibdiagnet & provide these files)
Example:
# cd /tmp
# tar -cf ibdiagnet.1.tar ibdiagnet*

This will let us capture all of the pm counters since the last time the errors & counters were cleared.

After the above command is run and the files collected, please run the following two commands to reset the counters & errors:

# ibclearcounters
# ibclearerrors

Then run the following command:
# ibdiagnet -c 100 -P all=1

And collect another ibdiagnet:

# ibdiagnet -skip dup_guids -ls 10 -lw 4x -pm
(Collect all the files again in /tmp that begin with ibdiagnet & provide these)

Example:
# cd /tmp
# tar -cf ibdiagnet.2.tar ibdiagnet*

Once the information has been provided, please remove the ibdiagnet.1.tar & ibdiagnet.2.tar files from the switch.
