WHAT SKILLS DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED?: TIME ESTIMATE: 15 minutes TASK COMPLEXITY: 0 FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS: PROBLEM OVERVIEW: An Oracle Server X7-2L Fan Module needs replacement WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :
1. Prepare the server for service.
2. Identify the faulty fan module. Each fan module has a fan status indicator (LED) that is located next to the module. If the LED is amber, the fan module has failed. 3. Using your forefinger and thumb, lift the fan module straight up and out of the chassis and set it aside on an antistatic mat. 4. Install the replacement fan module into the server. The fan modules are keyed to ensure that they are installed in the correct orientation. 5. Press down on the fan module to fully seat the fan module. 6. Verify that the fan module fault indicator (LED) on the replacement fan module is not illuminated. 7. Return the Server to operation
