FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS:
- PROBLEM OVERVIEW: The PUW Card Assembly has been determined defective and requires replacement.
- WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?: Take the library and drives offline to the system.
Note: Refer to the SL4000 Install and Service Manual for additional details as needed
PUW Card Replacement
The PUW is the interface between the rail power enable assembly and the robotics power. It is behind the top rail, covered by a plate, in the Base module.
Required Tools
■ T15 driver
Removal
1. Take the library and drives offline.
2. Turn off all PDU power switches.
3. Remove the ten T15 screws holding the rail power module.
4. Slide out and set aside the LOS modules.
5. Reach into the rail module and disconnect P700 on the left side.
6. Open the front door of the Base module.
7. Locate the metal access cover to the left of the top-left drive slot. Remove the two screws, lift the cover, and disconnect the plug.
8. Push the rail module out about 5 inches. Disconnect the power (P319) and signal cable (P612).
9. From the rear of the module, pull out the rail power module.
10. Remove the twelve T15 screws holding the PUW to the rail module. Remove the PUW.
Replacement
1. Reverse the removal procedures.
OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
- WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE?: Verify the camera and library initialize correctly and bring library online.
