DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS
- WHAT SKILLS DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED?: Familiar with the SL4000 Library.
- TIME ESTIMATE: 15 minutes
- TASK COMPLEXITY: 1

FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS:
- PROBLEM OVERVIEW: The PDU (Power Distribution Unit) Assembly has been determined defective and requires replacement
- WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?: Take the library offline to the system then power off the library.

Note: Refer to the SL4000 Install and Service Manual for additional details as needed

PDU Replacement

Removal
1. Take the library and tape drives offline. If the PDU is non-redundant, turn off the library (see "Power Off the Library" on page 3-4).
2. Turn the PDU circuit breaker OFF.
3. Twist and remove the power cable at the PDU.
4. Remove the PDU (see "Remove the PDUs" on page 1-9).

Replacement
1. Install the PDU (see "Install the PDUs" on page 1-56).
2. Re-install the power cable into the PDU.
3. Turn the PDU circuit breaker ON.
4. Verify that the cards, fans, and tape drives power-on.
5. Bring the library and tape drives online.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
- WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE?: Power up the library and bring library online.
