 Safety Door Stop Switch Assembly Replacement

Solution

DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS
- WHAT SKILLS DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED?: Familiar with the SL4000 Library.
- TIME ESTIMATE: 30 minutes
- TASK COMPLEXITY: 2

FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS:
- PROBLEM OVERVIEW: The Switch Assembly has been determined defective and requires replacement
- WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?: Take the library offline to the system.

Note: Refer to the SL4000 Install and Service Manual for additional details as needed.

Safety Door Stop Switch Assembly Replacement
The stop switch detects that the safety door is lowered. The switch is fastened to a mounting block near the bottom of the safety door frame.
Required Tools
■ T25 driver

Removal
1. Take the library offline, and then open the Access Module door.
2. Remove the two T25 screws.
3. Pull back on the assembly to remove the mounting pins from the holes.
4. Disconnect P/J137/9.
5. Remove the switch and cable.

Replacement
1. Guide the cable through the opening in the extrusion.
2. Connect the P/J137/9.
3. Align the mounting pins with holes in the extrusion.
4. Install the two T25 screws.
5. Close the Access Module door, and then bring the library online.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
- WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE?: Verify the switch and library initialize correctly and bring library online.
