Safety Door Motor Assembly Replacement

Solution

DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS
- WHAT SKILLS DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED?: Familiar with the SL4000 Library.
- TIME ESTIMATE: 30 minutes
- TASK COMPLEXITY: 2

FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS:
- PROBLEM OVERVIEW: The Safety Door Motor Assembly has been determined defective and requires replacement
- WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?: Take the library offline to the system.

Note: Refer to the SL4000 Install and Service Manual for additional details as needed.

Safety Door Motor Assembly Replacement
Required Tools
■ T25 driver

Removal
1. Take the library offline, and then open the Access Module door.
2. Disconnect the motor power/signal cable.
3. Loosen (do not remove) the two T25 screws.
4. Push on the spring lever to relieve tension on the belt.
5. Slide the belt off of the geared shaft.
6. Remove the two T25 screws, and then remove the motor.

Replacement
1. Slide the belt to align with gear on shaft.
2. Insert the new motor so that its geared shaft meshes with the belt.
3. Loosely insert the two T25 screws.
4. Press down on the motor and press the lever to establish belt tension.

5. Tighten the two T25 screws.
6. Connect the motor power/signal cable.
7. Close the Access Module door, and then bring the library online.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
- WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE?: Verify the Safety Door and library initialize correctly and bring library online.
