Cartridge Array Replacement

DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS
- WHAT SKILLS DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED?: Familiar with the SL4000 Library.
- TIME ESTIMATE: 15 minutes
- TASK COMPLEXITY: 1

FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS:
- PROBLEM OVERVIEW: The Cartridge Array has been determined defective and requires replacement
- WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?: Take the library offline to the system.

Note: Refer to the SL4000 Install and Service Manual for additional details as needed.

Cartridge Array Replacement
Required Tools
■ T15 driver (for 3 or 4-cell arrays)

Removal
1. Locate the release latch based on the array size (see table below).
2. Push in the release latch (or remove the screw for 3 or 4-cell arrays).
3. Lift up and remove the array.

Replacement
1. For 8-cell to 13-cell arrays, align the tabs and push down. For details, see "Installing a Cartridge Array" on page 1-12.

Array Size               Release Latch Location
8-cell                       Third slot from the top
11-cell                     Sixth slot from the bottom
12-cell                     Sixth slot from the bottom
13-cell                     Eighth slot from the top
3-cell                       T15 screw within the top slot
4-cell                       T15 screw within the bottom slot

2. For 3 or 4-cell arrays, tighten the T15 screw (see table above for location).

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
- WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE?: Verify the Cartridge Array is installed correctly and bring library online.
