FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS:
- PROBLEM OVERVIEW: The LOF Fan Assembly has been determined defective and requires replacement
- WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?: This part can be hot swapped.
- WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE?:

Note: Refer to the SL4000 Install and Service Manual for additional details as needed.

Fan Assembly (LOF) Replacement

Removal
You can hot-swap the fan assembly as long as the secondary fan assembly is fully operational.
1. Verify the fan assembly is offline. In the GUI, go to Hardware. In the Device Status Tree, locate the Fan Assembly in the base module and verify the Control State is "Offline". If it is online, right click the fan assembly, go to Control State, and then click Go Offline.
2. Physically locate the fan assembly (see "Base Card Cage Component Locations" on page 4-11).
3. Unlock the release tabs. Remove the assembly (for details see "Removing a Quick Release Component" on page 4-9).

Replacement
1. Slide the new fan assembly into place and lock the release levers (for details see "Installing a Quick Release Component" on page 4-10).
2. Verify that the fans are working and that the fault LED is OFF.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
- WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE?: Verify the LOF Fan Assembly is functional to the library.
