Goal

We've got a IPv6 peer node that is not receiving CEA responses to valid CER.

The Peer node is defined with a single IPv6 address. The received CER IP Source and Diameter IP-Host-Address match the peer node defined IPv6 address. The connection is defined to identify node based on IP address.

The Connection would not come up, the dsr trace.dat was logging entries like:

GN_INFO/INF Origin-Realm AVP=abc.mncXXX.mccXXX.3gppnetwork.org, Origin-Host AVP=abcd01.01.abc5a.abcd.abc.mncXXX.mccXXX.3gppnetwork.org, Peer IP Address(es)=<IPv6 Address> ^^ [6576:ConnectionHandler.C:2526] 10/03/2017 15:57:29 dsr#22320{Invalid peer initiated connection}

and the CER would be responded to with an ABRT from DSR MP.

Why Peer Node IP Address Match isn't working for IPv6 peer?

Solution

Set CEXconfigset value to Default in the Diameter_conn
Currently there is no value set for that.
