In this Document
Applies to:Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance Racked System ZS5-2 - Version All Versions and laterOPC ZFS ZS5-ES Rack - Version All Versions and later Oracle ZFS Storage ZS4-4 - Version All Versions and later Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance Racked System ZS4-4 - Version All Versions and later Oracle ZFS Storage ZS3-4 - Version All Versions and later 7000 Appliance OS (Fishworks) GoalBEFORE CONTINUING with the order for a replacement of a 1.6TB SSD with a Higher Capacity SSD, please ENSURE you have READ and UNDERSTAND the information contained in this document. Failure to ADHERE to this document WILL result in delays to Customer problem resolution.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Older model 1.6TB SSDs are NO LONGER AVAILABLE, a SSD with a Higher Capacity (3.2TB) will be provided to replace a lower capacity device. However, the higher capacity SSD will require a minimum AK Firmware version of OS 8.7.0 for the ZFS Storage Appliance.
Updating your software to the recommended version code will help to expedite part replacements. Please see MOS Document ID 2021771.1 for the latest ZFS Storage Appliance Software Requirements and update process.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are unable to upgrade the AK Firmware version to support the 3.2TB SSD, the replacement parts request for the older 1.6TB SSD may be delayed. By upgrading to AK Firmware version OS 8.7.0 (or later), the ZFS Storage Appliance is able to use the functionality of the 'newer' 3.2TB SSD replacement drives.
SolutionThe 1.6TB SSD drives are no longer being manufactured and their availability is finite. In an effort to extend the product availability as long as possible, any system running AK8.7 (2013.1.7.0 or higher) should use the table below for replacement part requests. Note: Attempting to use these substitutes in systems running lower than AK8.7 will result in the drives not being recognized.
