Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

HPE LTO-5, LTO-6, and LTO-7 library tape drives support drive diagnostics via the Ethernet interface using the Internet Diagnostics Tool Interface (iDTI) protocol.

L&TT 4.14 and newer releases support this feature with the Ethernet mode.

With Ethernet mode, most diagnostics can be performed from a laptop (with L&TT installed) that is connected to the drive or library with an Ethernet cable.

This saves installing L&TT on a specific server and connecting to the drive or library with SCSI cables.

Solution

Steps :

1. Open HP L&TT (Run as Administrator)
2. Scan Mode - Hardware Scan
3. I/O Mode - Ethernet
4. Select "IP address" in drop-down box
5. Enter the drive IP address
6. Continue.
