How to replace the Rail Power Module (LOS).

Solution

- WHAT SKILLS DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED?: Familiar with the SL4000 and LTO Tape Drive.
- TIME ESTIMATE: 10 minutes

FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS:
- PROBLEM OVERVIEW: The Rail Power Module has been determined defective and requires replacement
- WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?: Take the library offline to the system.

Note: Refer to the SL4000 Install and Service Manual for additional details as needed.

The LOS enables +48VDC to the robot. The LOS is located in the upper-left rear of the Base module. The LOS can be hot-swapped in a non-RE configuration. The library will automatically recover after you install a replacement card.

Required Tools
T15 driver

Removal
1. Take the library offline.
2. Turn the LOS switch OFF.
3. Remove the two T15 screws. Retain for re-installation.
4. Pull out the power module.

Replacement
1. Before inserting the new LOS, turn the switch OFF.
2. Slide the LOS into the slot.
3. Turn the switch ON.
4. Replace the two T15 screws.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
- WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE?: Verify the robot and library initialize correctly and bring library online.
