Removal
You must cold-swap non-redundant library controllers.

2. Turn the library OFF (see "Power Off the Library" on page 3-4).
Caution:
Electronics in the card cage are ESD sensitive. Follow all ESD procedures in the SL4000 Safety and Compliance Guide.
IMPORTANT:
You can only install a newly kick-started controller card as a FRU replacement. DO NOT install a card that has previously been installed in a library (as a feature card or library controller).
3. Locate the faulty library controller (see "Base Card Cage Component Locations" on page 4-11).
4. Label and then remove any cables connected to the LOC card.
5. Pinch and pull the release levers. Remove the card (see "Removing a Quick Release Component" on page 4-9).
6. Place the card in an ESD-protective envelope.
Replacement
1. Insert the new card (see "Installing a Quick Release Component" on page 4-10).
2. Replace any cables that you disconnected from the old card.
3. Turn ON the library (see "Power On the Library" on page 3-5). It will take about 90 minutes to process the new library controller card. The library should come back up with the same version of code and configuration as before the failure.
