Goal

 How to replace Local Operator Touch Panel.

Solution

 DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS
- WHAT SKILLS DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED?: Familiar with the SL4000 library.
- TIME ESTIMATE: 30 minutes
- TASK COMPLEXITY: 2

FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS:
- PROBLEM OVERVIEW:Local Operator Touch Panel has been determined defective and requires replacement
- WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?: Library must be offline to the system.
- WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE?:

Note: Refer to the SL4000 Install and Service Manual for additional details as needed.

Required Tools
T15 driver
Philips screw driver

Removal
1.Take the library offline, and then open the front door of the Base module.
2. Remove the web camera (if installed) and camera bracket (see image below). Loosen the thumb screw at the base of the camera. Disconnect the ethernet cable and remove the T15 screw in the upper left corner of the bracket. Lift up and set-aside the camera and bracket.
3. Remove the top six cartridge arrays from the door to access the op panel bracket.
4. Disconnect the four cables connected to the rear of the operator panel.
5. Loosen the four T15 screws holding the operator panel bracket to the door (two at top, two at bottom). Lift up and remove.
6. Remove the three Phillips screws mounting the operator panel to the bracket.
7. Retain the bracket for reinstallation.

Replacement
1. Reverse the removal procedures. However, when attaching the bracket to the door, verify the bottom of the bracket is flush and resting on the sheet metal of the door (as shown above).

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
- WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE?: Bring library online to the system. Verify the Operator Panel is functional to the library and system.
