Goal

 How to replace the CAP Controller (PUZ) and Motor Assembly.

Solution

 DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS
- WHAT SKILLS DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED?: Familiar with the SL4000 library.
- TIME ESTIMATE: 45 minutes
- TASK COMPLEXITY: 2

FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS:
- PROBLEM OVERVIEW: CAP Controller (PUZ) and Motor Assembly has been determined defective and requires replacement
- WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?: CAP must be offline to the system.
- WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE?:

Note: Refer to the SL4000 Install and Service Manual for additional details as needed.

When a CAP controller fails or you take the CAP controller offline, all downstream CAP controllers also go offline. After you replace the card, you must manually bring the CAP online. The library cannot automatically detect the new card. The CAPs will initialize and the library will online the replacement and all downstream CAPs.

T15 driver
T25 driver

Removal
1. Stop all CAP operations. In the GUI, go to Hardware . In the Device Status Tree, right click the CAP, go to Control State, and then click Go Offline.
2. Remove the decorative front cover at the top of the CAP by pulling the lower corners towards you.
3. Remove the two T15 screws that attach the EMC cover. Remove the cover.
4. Disconnect the connectors P/J310 (controller card power), P/J327 (motor signal), and P/J326 (motor switches).
5. Remove the two T25 screws from the motor assembly. Slide the motor assembly straight back.
6. Remove the two T15 screws that hold the controller card and plate.
7. Pull out the controller card.
8. Disconnect the connectors P/J328 (CAP button) and P/J311 (controller card signal).

Replacement
1. Reverse the removal procedures.
2. Manually bring the CAP online.
3. Test the CAP by opening and closing the CAP.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
