Goal

 How to replace the DriveTray Power Supply Card in the SL4000.

Solution

 DISPATCH INSTRUCTIONS
- WHAT SKILLS DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED?: Familiar with the SL4000, LTO and T10000 Tape Drive.
- TIME ESTIMATE: 45 minutes
- TASK COMPLEXITY: 2

FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR INSTRUCTIONS:
- PROBLEM OVERVIEW: Power supply card has been determined defective and requires replacement
- WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY?: Drive must be offline to the system.
- WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE?:

Note: Refer to the SL4000 Install and Service Manual for additional details as needed.

Required Tools
ESD protection
T10 driver

Removal
1. Place the drive offline. Remove the drive tray from the library, and then remove the top cover (see "Drive Tray Removal to Access FRUs" on page 11-10).
2. Remove the five T10 screws securing the power supply card.
3. Disconnect all cables from the card. Note the location of cables for reinstallation.
(The image below shows an LTO power supply. The connections may vary for other drive types.)
4. Remove the power supply card.

Replacement
1. Orient the new power supply the same as the old card.
2. Reconnect all cables to the card.
3. Secure the card with the five T10 screws.
4. Reinstall the top cover.

OBTAIN CUSTOMER ACCEPTANCE
- WHAT ACTION DOES THE FIELD ENGINEER/ADMINISTRATOR NEED TO TAKE TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE?: Bring drive online to the library. Verify the drive is functional to the system.
