Goal
To assist with creating a support bundle, to help Oracle Service diagnose an issue with the library.
Support Bundles contain encrypted log files and service login credentials used for fault diagnosis by Oracle service personnel. The library automatically generates a support bundle when it detects a fault. However, you can create a support bundle at any time. The bundle only captures recent data, therefore you should create the bundle as soon as possible after an event occurs.
Solution
To Create a Support Bundle:
- Click Reports in the left navigation area of the GUI.
- Click the Support Bundles tab.
- Click Create
, or select a bundle and then click Download
or Delete
.
NOTE: A new bundle may take time to generate. Click Refresh

, and wait until the bundle state is 'Completed' before downloading. You can only create one support bundle at a time.
To Upload a Support Bundle Internally to tapesupport
- Save the support bundle to an accessible location on your system
- Go to https://tapesupport.us.oracle.com/
- Click SPLAT and select Submit log from Local Machine.
- Enter the reason for upload and the case number. Click Next.
- Click Choose File, and then browse to the location that you saved the support bundle. Click Next.
- Verify the system identifies the file as an SL4000 log. Click Next.
- Enter the Site Name. Click Submit Logs. Depending on the file size, the log may take several minutes to process.
To View an Uploaded Service Bundle
- Go to https://tapesupport.us.oracle.com/
- Click SPLAT and select My History.
- Locate the service bundle in the list, and the click View Log.
Decrypting Service User Login Information
To access the library, the Administrator of the library must create a service user and
then send Oracle the corresponding key file (see the Library Guide for procedures). You
can then decrypt that key file to get the user ID and password to login to the library.
The service user expires within 72 hours.
- Copy the key file to an accessible location.
- Click Choose File and then browse to the key file.
- Click Decrypt File.
- Login into the library with the user name and password information.
