Goal

Stop all NPAC and Eagle agents for a successful restart node in LSMS server.

Solution

  1. Verify health and status of both servers. (LSMSPRI and LSMSSEC):
    # uptime
    # syscheck
    # hastatus
    # sentry status
  2. Log into the ACTIVE LSMS as lsmsadm. (or su - lsmsadm):
    1. stop all npac agents.
      Command syntax: lsms stop <name> (replace the name with Regional name)
    2. stop all eagle agents.
      Command syntax: ealge stop <name> (replace the name with Agent name)
  3. Log into the STANDBY LSMS as root.
    Start screen session:
    # screen
  4. Start the LSMS Manager Utility:
    # su - lsmsmgr
  5. Perform the Stop Node.
    1. Maintenance > Stop Node
    2. Answer ‘yes’ and follow prompts.
  6. When the Stop Node completes, return to the Maintenance menu to perform Start Node:
    1. Select Maintenance > LSMS Node Status. Verify that the Local Node is "UNINITIALIZED "INHIBITED" and the Remote Node is "ACTIVE".
    2. Select Maintenance > Start Node
    3. Answer ‘yes’ and follow prompts.
    4. When the Start Node completes, exit the utility back to the command line prompt.
  7. Log into the ACTIVE LSMS as lsmsadm. (or su - lsmsadm)
    1. start all Eagle agents.
      Command syntax: ealge stop <name> (replace the name with Agent name)
    2. start all npac agents.
      Command syntax: lsms start <name> (replace the name with Regional name)
  8. Verify health and status of both servers. (LSMSPRI and LSMSSEC):
    # uptime
    # syscheck
    # hastatus
    # sentry status
