Goal

Why are mounts taking more than 10 minutes to complete? What is meant by FSC 6142

Solution

The acsss_event.log is showing a drive Fault Symptom Code (FSC) like this:

Fault Symptom Code (FSC) 6142 reported when dismounting volume BR0272 from
drive 0, 2, 1,12.

FSC 6142 description:

FSC: 6142 ECPT_FSC_TIMEOUT_GETTING_KEYS
Drive needs keys to read data from tape and was not able to get them within the time allotted.

To resolve this issue, make sure that the encrypted tape drive is able to get keys from at least one of the KMA servers it is enrolled to.
If no KMA in the OKM cluster is able to provide keys to the tape drive, try re-enrolling the tape drive with a KMA in the drive's service network.
