TIME ESTIMATE: 30 minutes

TASK COMPLEXITY: 0

REMOVAL/REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS:

WHAT STATE SHOULD THE SYSTEM BE IN TO BE READY TO PERFORM THE RESOLUTION ACTIVITY? :

The system's redundant power supplies support concurrent maintenance, which enables you to remove and replace a power supply without shutting down the server, provided that the other power supply is online and working.

WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED?:

1.Confirm the Power Supply failure and it's location.

Identify which power supply (0 or 1) requires replacement.
A lit Service Required LED on a power supply indicates that a failure was detected.

2. Remove the Power Supply

Disconnect the power cord from the faulty power supply.
Grasp the power supply handle and press the release latch.
Pull the power supply out of the chassis.

3. Install the replacement Power Supply

Align the replacement power supply with the empty power supply chassis bay.
Slide the power supply into the bay until it is fully seated.
The release latch engages when the power supply is fully seated.

4. Return the Server to operation

Reconnect the power cord to the power supply and verify the following:

The power supply AC Present LED is lit
The power supply Service Required LED is off

Verify that the following LEDs are off:

Service Required LEDs located on the front of both server nodes
REAR HDD/PS/FAN LED located on the front of both server nodes

WHAT ACTIONS ARE REQUIRED TO RETURN THE SYSTEM TO AN OPERATIONAL STATE?: N/A
