Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

 To document various ILOM commands to provide helpful configuration data about an FS1-2.

Solution

The following commands can be used to gather configuration information about an FS1-2.  They are typically run from a Controller (as is the case in all of the examples below) but are also valid for running on Pilots.

  • hwdiag system info all
  • hwdiag pci scan
  • show -display properties -level all -format nowrap /System/

 The hwdiag command is specific to targets that can be seen by the ILOM.  An example of hwdiag system info all:

The command hwdiag pci scan provides details about what the system can see on the PCIe bus.  In particular examine the SKT[0] section for PCIe entries. Anything listed should be "ACTIVE".  Slots that are not listed are empty.  Slots that show "off" are indicative of problems.  A single "off" instance would be indicative of either the PCIe card itself or the riser it is plugged into.  If both PCIe cards on the same riser are "off", that points more towards the riser or worse, the system board.

The command "show -display properties -level all -format nowrap /System/ will display all the properties of the various components (targets) seen by the ILOM.  The -level all option makes it recursive and thus will display anything beneath.  So if one starts with "System", everything will be displayed.  Output can be constrained by using one of System's targets (ex: /System/Memory).
