Goal

How can PMF filter Diameter traffic ?

Solution

In order to split your traffic, you can use the pre-defined filter introduced in 10.2 like DIA_APP_GX or DIA_APP_S6. Refer to the CCM user guide chapter "About Probed Acquisition Diameter Configuration Use Case".

Those pre-defined filter are protected and can't be modified, but can be combined with other filters.

Since release 10.x it was also introduced the RAW filters which allow to define filters based on text like in whireshark. You can refer the CCM user guide chapter "Appendix G: PMIA Filter Syntax" to have more information on the syntax.

Take care using this feature as any syntax error will block the PMIA compilation and the PMF will not send anymore traffic on any routes even the one you did not modified, so don't make too much changes at a time and be ready to revert it in case of issue.

In case you would still have too much traffic in one of those TC you may also use the automatic loadsharing based on the session id.

Finally a new LTE DIAMETER TDR builder has been introduced in PIC 10.2 instead of IMS DIAMETER TDR to improve the generic diameter performance. However, you are not using the integrated OCDSR, you can check the CCM user guide chapter "About Integrated OCDSR Monitoring Configuration Use Case" and implement a similar configuration on the mediation side.
