Solution

 Prerequisites

  1. Make sure that Customer has stopped Provisioning.

                                      *  netstat –anp | grep 8080 |wc -l          For SOAP request

                                      *  netstat –anp | grep 8787 |wc -l          For REST request

        2. Check all the Active alarms and make sure they are accounted for before starting this activity.

 Steps

  1. Login to WebCI GUI using VIP of both Reference Protected and Replica sites.
  2. On both sites, Click on System ---> Geo Redundancy View.
  3. In Reference Protected site, click on "Disable Geo Redundancy" and its Status becomes :-

                                                                Redundancy Enabled = Disabled

                                                                DbGeoState = UnassignedDisabled

                      At the same time, Replica site's status becomes:-

                                                                Redundancy Enabled = Enabled

                                                                DbGeoState = PendingReference

       4. In Replica site, click on "Force Geo Redundancy" and its Status becomes :-

                                                                Redundancy Enabled = Enabled

                                                                DbGeoState = Reference

                     At the same time, Reference Protected site's status becomes:-

                                                                Redundancy Enabled = Disabled

                                                                DbGeoState = UnassignedDisabled

       5. In Reference Protected Site, Click on "Enable Geo Redundancy" and its Status becomes :-

                                                                Redundancy Enabled = Enabled

                                                                DbGeoState = UnassignedEnabled

       6. In Reference Protected Site, Click on  "Resume Geo Redundancy" and its Status becomes :-

                                                                Redundancy Enabled = Enabled

                                                                DbGeoState = Negotiating

                       At the same time, Replica site's status becomes:-

                                                                Redundancy Enabled = Enabled

                                                                DbGeoState = Reference

       7. Wait for few minutes and refresh the GUI. Now Status on Reference Protected site becomes :-

                                                               Redundancy Enabled = Enabled

                                                               DbGeoState = Replica

                       At the same time, Replica site's status becomes:-

                                                                Redundancy Enabled = Enabled

                                                                DbGeoState = Reference Protected

              This completes the shifting of Geo Redundancy state from Reference Protected to Replica and vice versa from one site to another.

Post Activity:-

        1. Make sure there are no alarms present in both sites related to Geo Redundancy/Replication.

        2. Once this procedure is complete, you can ask customer to start Provisioning to newly promoted Reference Protected site.
